Tomorrow, at 4:00 pm, either in Room 3080 or the Department, I am to consult with Ma'am Edna May and see how my thesis draft fares.
Here's hoping for the best.

What Sir Tony had to say.
Remember What happened last Monday?
Well, this morning at around 7:30 AM, I received a text message from Sir Tony Mabesa.
Oh. wow.
So, by 11:30am, I arrived at Sir Tony's place. Chien the Super Chow Chow trotted up to me at the gate, ruff-ruffed, and trotted away as the director's Butler waved him back into the sala and let me in.
Chien had by then settled and snuggled beside one of the sala seats nearest the door. Sir Tony was reading the day's newspaper. His baritone "good morning" had a brighter, lighter tone to it. A good omen.
The hefty draft, thesis, appendices and all, lay on the coffee table, a couple of yellow pad leaves pressed between the volumes. The yellow pad paper contained the suggestions and comments.
Sir Tony read them aloud. Yep, he basically hit me in all the right tingly places. Yes, it's a formal paper; not a feature article. Yes, I ought to be a bit "more dispassionate on the bit about the critics." Yes, i shouldn't be constantly prepending Sirs and Dr.s to each an every name in the study. and basically other technicalities that it would be wiser for me to pay attention to.
To Sir Tony, I am most grateful.
So basically, here I am, revising, re-encoding, will soon be printing in a few minutes time, and hieing off the thesis volume back to Blessings to re-ringbind. Tomorrow, I'm to come back here in the morning to deliver the whole rigmarole to the Department for Ma'am Edna May's perusal.
Wow.
here we go then.

Avengers, assemble!
... the first draft! (ngwek-ngwek, corny.)
Went back to the photocopy-shop Blessings inside the UP Shopping Center. My Appendix darlings (collected play manuscripts, reviews, biographical data, and the like) had all been nicely done, lightened, and re-sized. Now all that was needed was assembling the whole thing.
Oh, boy.
the whole thing was a few centimeters short of a dangkal(the length between the tips of an outstretched thumb and pinkie). It was so thick, the team at Blessings was absolutely sure it was impossible binding the whole thing in one piece. So, for sanity's sake, we divided the whole thing into four parts.
The four parts were still huge.
An hour later, I delivered the first draft (plus the VCD- and DVD-transferred interviews) to Sir Tony's house inside the University. I had learned through a call to him he wouldn't be home as he was in auditions. So, the butler and Chien the massive Chow-chow met me and recieved the copy. (er, that'd be the butler. Chien seemed too eager for a nightly stroll out on her own once the gate was open.)
So, there. *sigh of releif*
One down, two more to go.

Eyahoooo!!!
Not fifteen minutes ago, I had keyed in the last period to my entire thesis.
Dear friends: my Chapter 5 (Conclusion and Recommendation) is finished.
My thesis' initial first draft is done.
Eyahooooo!!! or as some people would put it, w00t!
Well, that's that. So, hand it first to Sir Tony Mabesa, thesis proper, appedix and all, and wait for what he has to say. If he is what my grandmother says he is (and hey, I'm supposed to know the guy!), he'll probably go through it with a fine-toothed comb. suyod, kung baga.
Then after that, it's off to Ma'am Edna May Landicho with the supposed First Draft. (Or is that Second Draft already?)
Tapos, may Playwriting pa...
*sigh*

Sleep? What's that?
(5:30 am)
Let it not be said my wee hours of this morning were wasted.
I greeted the second of this November with oh, nothing much, just a detailed six- (or was it ten?)page Methodology, and two hours of seemingly non-existent sleep. Mama mercifully let me sleep just one hour more before she roused me to pay our respects to our dearly departed in Loyola. I can't thank her enough.
And today? Starting from 11:00am yesterday to 5:30am today, It's been a nerve-wrenching comparative study between four versions of In My Father's House and profile composition for all six artists well into cockcrow. Aside from the usual three square meals and small bits of candy to ensure my sugar fix ( and coax out of me a sorry excuse for a smile), I've currently been running on nothing but eight cups of hot water, three cups of ceylon tea, and about forty-one tracks of the Beatles.
At times like these, All You Need Is Love, Penny Lane, and Yellow Submarine is a comfort.
No, I don't think I'll be catching any sleep tonight. Er, today. Um.
(12:00 nn)
And we did.
An obscene amount of non-sleep can do things to someone's brain. On the other hand, it's sometimes best to asess your work priorities before going ahead and doing it anyway.
Lesson learned.

John, George, Ringo, Paul,
Bring us to Heaven, one and all.
Ringo, Raul, George, and John,
Rest this tired head I lie on.

Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we might fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out

Observe.
Observe the estimated size and bulk of my thesis. If we do decide to include all the copies of the plays I've found, the interviews, and of course, thesis in question, the whole thing's gonna be this high. Observe, in reference, a regular-sized Dong-A gel pen.
It still wants a couple of thick, hearty chapters. Plus Reviews. Plus transcribed interviews. Plus DVDs of the Interviews. And the print out of this yours truly journal.
Oh. Wow.One, Two, Three, Four
Can I have a little more?
Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten
I love you
A, B, C, D
Can I bring my friend to tea?
F, G, H I, J
I love you
